Germany Premiere: HHLA Sky, Morpheus Logistik, and Eurofins GeLaMed Revolutionize Medical Logistics with Drone Delivery

HHLA Sky, in partnership with drone airline Morpheus Logistik and medical lab group Eurofins GeLaMed, announce the launch of a groundbreaking new standard in medical lab logistics. Leveraging HHLA Sky's technology, our partner Morpheus Logistik will operate from May regular drone flights carrying medical samples between multiple hospitals and central labs.
Automated Lab Logistics: The Future is Now
Unveiled at a press event today, this next-gen logistics solution utilizes drones, automatically controlled and monitored via HHLA Sky's Integrated Control Center (ICC), to shuttle critical lab samples between hospitals and the Eurofins GeLaMed lab in Iserlohn, Germany. Plans are already in motion to expand drone routes to connect locations like Iserlohn and Gelsenkirchen, further boosting lab logistics efficiency.
Efficiency, Sustainability, and Reliability: A Triple Win
Drone transport slashes delivery times, overcoming the limitations of traditional logistics. This automated system enables faster diagnoses, streamlines supply chains, and provides an eco-friendly alternative to car-based sample transport.
HHLA Sky's X25 drones feature redundant systems and ample power for safe and reliable flight. Morpheus Logistik's German Federal Aviation Authority-approved SAIL III operating concept, combined with the ICC's real-time control and monitoring, ensures maximum safety during automated flights.
With our IIoT platform, the Integrated Control Center, we are setting new standards for the automation and safety of drone operations in healthcare and beyond.

Scalable Drone Operations with Cutting-Edge IIoT Platform
ICC’s technology prioritizes seamless integration into existing logistics workflows, automation with careful oversight, and adherence to civil aviation safety standards. The HHLA Sky ICC is a cutting-edge IIoT platform for mobile robot management, enabling automated drone control and streamlining entire processes. Thus, a single pilot can monitor multiple flight routes simultaneously, ensuring scalability and increased efficiency.
In addition, HHLA Sky's platform meets top-tier cybersecurity standards in accordance to IEC 62443, as certified by German technical agency TÜV NORD.
This way, Morpheus Logistik ensures reliable, GDPR-compliant and aviation-compliant operations for Eurofins GeLaMed.
A Game Changer for the Industry
Eurofins GeLaMed, Morpheus Logistik, and HHLA Sky demonstrate that drone logistics is not a thing of the future: it's a scalable, secure, and beneficial solution for healthcare, available today.
